Im shot a 7-under 65 in the final round of the KLPGA Tour’s Sangsangin-Korea Economic TV Open ($1.2 billion in prize money) on Oct. 22 at Lakewood Country Club Mulgil and Flower Road (Par 72) in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do, to win with a four-round total of 13-under 275. It was her third win of the season after winning the NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship in May and the Jeju Samdasu Masters in August. It is her fifth career victory. She is the third player on the KLPGA Tour to win three times this season, joining Park Ji-young and Lee Ye-won.

A virtual unknown until her maiden victory at the 2021 BC Card – Hankyung Ladies Cup, Im has transformed herself into a top-tier player this season after posting a career-best two wins at last year’s McCall’s Mona Park Open.With her victory, Im moved to third on the money list ($216 million) and into second place in terms of points earned.

In fact, not many people expected her to win the tournament. Rather, many observers were expecting a second-round match between Lim and Lee, and that’s how it played out until the midway point. Entering the final round in a tie for fifth place, four strokes behind leader Im Hee-jung, Im turned things around with seven birdies without a bogey.
