토스카지노Kia Tigers left-hander Thomas Pannoni (29) dominated the Doosan lineup with his knife-edge fastball.
Pannoni started the game against the Doosan Bears at Jamsil Stadium on June 6 and pitched six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. He allowed just three hits to the Doosan bats.
In the bottom of the first inning, he gave up a single to Kim Jae-ho to left-center field, but he mixed his cutter and fastball to get Rojas and Yang Ji to ground out.
In the bottom of the second, he struck out all three batters to complete the triple play. He struck out Yang Seok-hwan and Kim Jae-hwan on swinging strikes and Kang Seung-ho on a groundout.

Panoni threw 19 pitches in the bottom of the fifth, but struck out the side to keep the scoreless streak alive.
Pannoni of the KIA Tigers throws hard in the first inning against the Doosan Bears of the 2023 KBO League at Jamsil Stadium on Sept. 6. Sept. 6, 2023, Jamsil | Park Jin-up upandup@sportsseoul.com
Panoni ran into trouble for the first time in the bottom of the sixth inning. After two outs, he gave up an infield single to Kim Jae-ho. Kim reached second on a stolen base, but a throwing error by the catcher allowed him to advance to third. However, Pannoni got Rojas to fly out to left field with two outs and walked off the mound to cheers from the crowd.
Panoni, who totaled 98 pitches on the day, threw a mix of cutters (49), fastballs (33), curves (13) and changeups (3). His fastball topped out at 145 miles per hour and his cutter at 144. His command was flawless, with 70 of his 98 pitches in the strike zone.
He was especially effective against Doosan hitters with his main weapon, a cutter, which he pitched both outside and inside the zone. He has shown some weakness against lefties this season, posting a .276 batting average against them, but he shut them down, giving up hits only to right-handers Yang Ji and Kim Jae-ho. et16@sportsseoul.com
